Berkmar Boys Basketball Team Learns Teamwork, Leadership at Sheriff’s Office Obstacle Course

Yesterday players and coaches of the Berkmar Basketball team visited the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department to learn what it means to be a leader in the community, what it means to be a part of a successful team, and what it means to help your teammates through good and tough times. Members of the Sheriff’s Department welcomed the team over to their facility where they spoke about leadership qualities and put the boys through the grueling obstacle course where they had to work in teams to complete the course. It was a great experience to not only listen to the expertise of the members of the Sheriff’s Department, but also to get away from the gym and let the guys practice leadership skills outside of the walls of Berkmar and the court.
